A Million Little Miracles

Iwas a young Army wife, sitting in a large stadium in Muscat, Oman, surrounded by a huge crowd of people attending Oman's National Day celebration. Dr. Yousef Shawki, an Egyptian-born, Harvard-educated influencer in that country, was seated between Frank & me. translating the Sultan's speech. We were present (as Americans) only because he personally invited us. Oman is a traditional, Muslim Nation. I was perhaps the only blonde Western female there. Little did I know I would go on to lead an unprecedented research project for Oman's Ministry of Education. This is only part of the story.
